WELCOME, HOUSTON ILLINI!

Fellow Illini,

The Houston Illini Club is the official University of Illinois alumni club serving more than 4,000 graduates from UIUC, UIC and UIS throughout the greater Houston area. Our purpose is simple:

• Unite alumni through our shared Illinois experience
• Serve as a positive force in the Houston community
• Support Houston-area students who will attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

It is an honor to serve as president of the Houston Illini Club. I grew up in Rochester, Illinois, earned degrees from both UIUC and UIS, and moved to Houston in 2022. My Illinois experience shaped both my career and my life—I even met my wife at a campus philanthropy event—and I know firsthand how lasting the connections formed through the University of Illinois can be. You can learn more about me in my Member Spotlight.

Our club has grown into one of Houston’s most active alumni communities. Our past events have included Fighting Illini game watches, NCAA Tournament and Final Four celebrations, outings to see former Illini compete professionally, Houston Food Bank service projects, Big Ten networking and social events, welcome dinners for incoming Illinois students, speaker programs featuring accomplished Illini, and our popular Portillo’s pool parties.

There is always something happening with the Houston Illini. Throughout the year, we bring alumni together for Fighting Illini game watches, professional sporting events, speaker programs, service projects, networking opportunities and social gatherings across the Houston area. Whether you enjoy sports, service, professional networking or simply meeting other Illini, I hope you will find something that connects you with our community. Check our upcoming events calendar and join us!

Because the Houston Illini Club is dues-free, these scholarships are funded entirely through the generosity of our members and friends. Please consider making a voluntary donation to the scholarship fund. Every contribution helps a deserving Houston-area student begin an Illinois education.

If you are an Illinois graduate living in the Houston area, I encourage you to join or renew your membership. Membership is free, and our events welcome your family and friends. Members may also receive discounts on selected ticketed activities.

Everything our club accomplishes is made possible by volunteers. We welcome your ideas, energy and involvement—whether you would like to organize an event, serve on a committee or explore a future role on our Board. If you would like to help lead an activity, please complete our brief event-volunteer form.

Stay connected with us on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. Please feel free to contact me at president@houstonilliniclub.com with your questions, suggestions or ideas for making our club even stronger.

I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event and building the Houston Illini community together.
