JOIN US AT BARCELONA WINE BAR TO FEED THE CITY ON SATURDAY, MAY 10 AT 8:30 AM!

What:

With your guests join the Houston Illini Club for another University of Illinois alumni encouraged Day of Service event! For this activity we have chosen to support Feed The City, where individuals and groups come together at a local venue to make lunches for people in need. Note that the University of Illinois Alumni Association will be supplying all participants Illinois Day of Service T-Shirts to commemorate our nationwide Day of Service event, so please RSVP!

Before the event:

• Buy and bring the products listed below for making 25-30 sandwiches each.
• Before Thursday, May 8 please RSVP via the link found on this webpage! This will allow us to bring sufficient Ziplock sandwich bags, condiments and Illinois T-shirts.

Each Person Brings:

• One loaf of sliced wheat/white bread.
• Two packages of deli meat: turkey, chicken, or ham; no deli counter meat.
• One package of sliced cheese. We recommend against individually wrapped sliced cheese as this makes it harder.
• One bag of Cuties/Halos or two large bags of chips.
• If you would like to participate but do not have time to shop for the supplies, please contact Jason Cables, who will add to his order and bring your supplies. You can reach Jason at president@houstonilliniclub.com.

Event day:

• Arrive between 8:00-8:30 AM; the event starts at 8:30 AM.
• All ages are welcome; supervise those under 18.
• Wear bleach-safe clothes, and, if you have long hair tie your hair back.
• After the event, with your guests join us at Brasil for an optional breakfast and celebration of service! (Google Maps link)

FAQS:

• Bring as many people as you want.
• No age limit.
• You may leave early; the event lasts 1.5 hours.
• We prefer product donations over money.
