NASA SPACEX Crew-1 Launch PArty
Watch with us as America launches Illini Mike Hopkins and his crew to the International Space Station!
Once again the historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center will be teaming with excitement as they prepare to launch the first crew rotation mission in the Commercial Crew Program. Aerospace Engineering alum Mike "Hopper" Hopkins, (BS '92) will command this mission with crew members Shannon Walker, Victor Glover and Soichi Noguchi. Join us as we celebrate and count down the launch.
Prior to launch Aerospace Engineering faculty member Michael Lembeck will give a brief overview and commentary on this mission. He'll be joined by Michael Burghardt (BS '85), former Boeing Commercial Crew Transportation Launch Segment Director, Jared Daum (BS '11), NASA Parachute Hardware Team and Doug Litteken, (MechSE BS '11, MS '16) president of the Houston Illini Club. Q&A will be accepted from the audience if time allows. The program will begin at 6:00 pm (CST) with the launch set for 6:27 pm (CST).
